May 31st, 2008 is THE day to kick off the
Triathlon season in Western Washington! Grab your family and friends, and
join us at Lake Sammamish State Park in Issaquah, WA for a great set of races:
We're excited to announce that we will be setting up the 2008 event on the big
beach -- Sunset Beach -- at the State Park. This means lots more
room for everything and everyone! And, we're not dividing the
courses between the two beach areas. Much better viewing for all. Of
course this also means the locations for the Finish Line, the 5K Start Line, the
transition area, and the beginning and ending sections of all the
courses are new. So be sure and click on the Course
Maps link and study the new maps and course description documents.

Our focus is on fun for the experienced athletes and a friendly and supportive
environment for you novices. The start times are set so family and friends can
all participate and still cheer each other on. And after you've raced,
enjoy homemade cookies, fresh fruit, and hot-off-the-grill Johnsonville brats
while you cheer on your fellow participants.

Who are we?
We're moms, dads, and kids of all ages. We're the friends and families of Arbor
Schools / Eastside Montessori Education Foundation (EMEF), a
non-profit 501©(3) organization. We love being outdoors and we love
lifetime sports like running, biking, swimming, and triathlons. Our main goal
for the Issaquah Triathlon & 5K is to get you and your
whole family outside enjoying these great sports together. This event is also
our primary annual fundraiser. All of the proceeds will be used to improve Arbor
Montessori Schools and to provide scholarships for Montessori school kids on the
Eastside. So join us for this fun event and help your family and ours! Thank you
for participating.
This event is produced by over 250 volunteers from Arbor Schools, EMEF and
the community, but would not be possible without the help and support of the
rangers and staff of Lake Sammamish State Park, the Police officers of Issaquah,
Sammamish and the King County Officers Guild, the Police
Explorer Scouts, the Cadets and Commanders from the Civil
Air Patrol -- Overlake Composite Squadron and our Sponsors.
