Volunteers, sponsors, competitors and families,
Thank you so much for supporting Arbor Schools’ 11th Issaquah Triathlon. The event was an overwhelming success on a variety of levels. The weather gods blessed us with beautiful weather, our courses were safe and virtually dry, and all present seemed to have a splendid time. This event is a major fundraiser for Arbor Schools and we couldn’t produce it without the thousands of hours of volunteer time our families and friends put in, the financial support we receive from our sponsors and the performance of the competitors.
To thank you each year we try to improve the event. This year we hired a professional triathlon coordinator, Trifreaks, we had several of our sponsors at the event, and we went green. Our sponsor Allied Waste helped us by providing compost, recycle and garbage containers throughout the site. Thank you all for participating in managing our event waste. We also went green by eliminating trinkets for our age group winners, instead providing them with substantial discounts for next year’s event. This way they get a financial reward for their hard work and we keep our planet free of one more piece of swag.
We hope your experience this year improved as a result of our efforts and that you had as much fun supporting and participating in our event as we had putting it on. Hope to see you all next year.
Thanks,
Arbor Schools Students and Staff
Welcome to the 2012 Issaquah Triathlon
Register for the 12th Annual Issaquah Triathlon now!
In the spirit of always looking for ways to improve the event for our participants we’ve moved our start location from Sunset Beach beach to Tibbet’s beach this year. NOTE: the event is still being held inside Lake Sammamish just a different beach. Click here for details. That said, we are really excited about the new course and we think you will like it. One of the key advantages is that the Transition area is at a slightly higher elevation so we’ll be drier should it rain.
Take a look at the updated course maps
and send in any comments. We will continue to update course maps as the event nears. You can also ask questions of our event experts on Friday June 3rd during packet pickup at the Issaquah Hilton Garden Inn.
Attention 5k and 10k Racers
Based on racer feedback we will be starting the 5k and 10k race at 7:00 AM sharp. Please be sure to arrive by 6:15 so you can get to the start on time.
Volunteers Needed
Are you a member of a club that enjoys supporting local events, a company looking to show your community spirit or a high school student that needs to fulfill some of your volunteer hours for the year? Something for Everyone
In addition to the triathlon, we offer a duathlon (bike and run), a 5k and 10k run and a kid’s triathlon. Event start times are scheduled so family & friends can all participate and still cheer each other on. See the events page for a complete listing of all our racing venues. We offer something for everyone.
