Run Course - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
The surface is quite varied and study the run course maps. Study this as well. It will let you know where the course changes from asphalt to packed dirt, to field grass, to mowed grass, to sidewalk. It also alerts you to areas with an increased chance for mud and mole hills. Be safe! Know the course!
Advisory: due to the weather this time of the year, we may have to change the route inside the park due to standing water, mud or erosion along the Issaquah Creek Trail.
The course will marked out the Friday afternoon before the event for you to run, also we will have a map at Package Pickup for you view Friday Afternoon. Thank you.
No. But we have a target cutoff time of 10:30. We have an official "Last Person" for the sprint triathlon that functions as a sweeper for the run course used in the 5K Run as well.
No. For safety and competitive reasons, you may not have your dog with you on the run course.
Yes, but . . . You may not block or impede the forward progress of other competitors with the baby jogger either intentionally or accidently. Also, keep in mind that this is a cross-country style course. It can get rather bumpy in many places and your child probably won't be too comfortable.
There is one water station at about the halfway point on the 5K run. Only water is served at this station. If you are injured and unable to continue the run, you can ask a fellow participant (or a roving volunteer) to alert a Course Marshal who will call for transport and/or medical aid.
